The Dyson V8 Cyclone is powered by a Hyperdymium™ digital motor spinning at up to 125,000 rpm, delivering 150 Air Watts of suction at the inlet in Boost mode. A swappable 7-cell lithium-ion battery provides up to 60 minutes of fade-free run time in Eco mode, with approximately 26 minutes in Standard mode and around 8 minutes in Boost. Because the battery clicks in and out without tools, you can replace it at end of life rather than retiring the whole machine.

De-tangling Motorbar™ cleaner head for hair and debris:

The De-tangling Motorbar™ cleaner head is motorised for edge-to-edge deep cleaning and is engineered to reduce hair wrap on the brush bar, making it well suited to homes with pets or long hair. Three power modes - Eco, Medium, and MAX - let you balance run time against suction depending on the floor type and task at hand.

2 Tier Radial™ cyclones and whole-machine filtration:

Hygienic point-and-press emptying:

The Hygienic Dirt Ejector drives dust and debris out of the bin in a single action, with no need to touch the collected dirt. The internal shroud is made from chemically etched stainless steel with approximately 15,000 holes, each 0.4 mm in diameter, designed to release compacted dust cleanly. At 2.7 kg with the Motorbar™ head fitted, the machine converts from stick to handheld configuration in seconds for stairs, upholstery, and car interiors.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Attach the Wall Dock to the wall at a convenient height using the fixings provided, then slot the charger into the dock. Click the V8 Cyclone onto the dock to begin charging - the machine will be ready to use after a full 4-hour charge. The wand and cleaner head click together firmly, and the trigger-free one-press button means the machine runs continuously until you switch it off.

Emptying the bin:

Hold the machine over a bin, point the nozzle downward, and press the Hygienic Dirt Ejector button to release collected dust in a single action without touching the dirt. The 0.54-litre capacity is designed to hold a full session's worth of debris for most homes. Empty when the dust reaches the MAX line inside the bin.

Filter maintenance:

The V8 Cyclone has two washable filters: a conical pre-motor filter at the head of the machine and an oval post-motor filter. Wash both under cold running water at least once a month and allow them to dry fully for at least 24 hours before refitting - never use a dishwasher, tumble dryer, or warm air to speed drying.

Battery care:

Store the machine on the Wall Dock between uses to keep the battery topped up and ready. The swappable 7-cell lithium-ion battery can be removed and replaced by clicking it out of the machine body, meaning the vacuum can be given a fresh battery rather than being replaced when capacity eventually reduces over many charge cycles.
