Robotic Window Cleaning

Robotic Window Cleaning

A window cleaning robot is bought for the panes you cannot safely reach. It holds itself to the glass by suction, maps the edges of the pane, then works across it in a pattern while you stay on the ground, which makes it a genuine alternative to a ladder for a first floor window, a stairwell pane or a large fixed unit that does not open. Two safety features are not optional and should decide the purchase: a safety cord anchored inside the room, and an internal battery that keeps the suction motor running long enough to hold the unit on the glass through a power cut. Without the second one, a tripped breaker means the machine falls. After that, look at how it handles frames and edges, since a robot that detects the boundary properly will clean right to the beading rather than leaving a border, and at whether it works on frameless glass, which some units cannot grip at the edge. Cleaning solution is sprayed from the unit onto a microfibre pad rather than run down the glass, so consumption is low and the pads wash and reuse. These are slower than a person on the inside of a window and faster than a person on a ladder outside, which is exactly where they make sense.

Ecovacs covers this range with the Winbot units, including the W2S Omni with its own base station and the compact Winbot Mini for smaller panes. For drying condensation and finishing glass by hand, the squeegee alternative is in Window Vacuums, and the full floorcare range is in Vacuum Cleaners.

Window cleaning robots carry the highest prices in floorcare, so a reduction here is worth more in absolute terms than anywhere else in the category. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are when the premium automated machines come within reach, and they are the first to go. Prices are live all year, so see what is reduced now on vacuum cleaners on sale.
