Vanity Units

A bathroom vanity unit puts a basin on top of storage, hiding the trap and pipework and giving you somewhere to put everything that otherwise sits on the cistern. Two decisions settle most of it. Freestanding or floor standing units sit on the floor, need no wall reinforcement and suit a straightforward swap for an old pedestal basin. Wall hung units fix to the wall with a clear floor beneath, which makes a small bathroom look larger and makes mopping easier, but the wall has to take the weight. Width then follows the space, running 400mm and 450mm for a cloakroom, 500mm to 600mm for most bathrooms, 800mm where there is room, and 900mm to 1200mm for a double or a main bathroom. Some units come supplied with the basin, others are sold as the unit only so you can pair your own. Finishes run gloss and matt white, oak, walnut, grey, anthracite, black and a range of muted greens and blues.
