Christmas Baubles

Christmas Baubles

Baubles are bought by the box, not the piece, and the number you need scales with the tree. A six foot tree takes roughly 60 to 70 baubles to look full, a seven footer closer to 90, and a slim tree noticeably fewer because there is less depth to fill. Mix sizes rather than buying one diameter: larger baubles sit deep in the tree and give it body, smaller ones go on the outer tips where they catch the lights. Shatterproof is worth paying for if there are small children or a cat in the house.

Bauble Sets, Colours and Finishes

Matt, gloss and glitter finishes behave differently under tree lights. Gloss throws the light back hardest and reads brightest from across the room, matt softens it, and glitter sits between the two. A set that mixes all three in one colour family is the easiest way to get a tree that looks designed rather than accumulated. Classic red and gold, silver and white, and the muted blush and sage palettes all run here. Browse the full range of Christmas baubles.

Matching Baubles to Your Tree

Green trees take almost any palette. Flocked and white trees are harder, because pale baubles disappear against them and you need saturated colour or metallics to read at all. Buy the tree first. Our Christmas trees range covers 6ft to 10ft from Everlands, National Tree Company, Puleo and Kaemingk.

Lights, Baubles and the Order You Hang Them

Lights first, working from the trunk outwards, then baubles, then the topper. Hanging lights after baubles always ends with the lead visible. Our Christmas tree lights cover the right lengths by tree height, and Christmas tree skirts finish the base.

Brands stocked include Kaemingk, Decoris, The Grange, Newgrange Living and Festive.
