Vacuum bags are machine specific and the model code matters far more than the brand name, because manufacturers use the same bag across several machines and different bags within one range. Miele is the clearest example: FJM and GN are entirely different sizes and are not interchangeable, so check the code printed on the old bag or inside the machine before ordering. Numatic machines including Henry and Hetty share a common bag, which is why one product covers several models. Bag material makes a real difference to how the machine performs. Paper bags are the cheapest and filter adequately, while microfibre bags hold more, resist tearing when full and trap far finer particles, which is what matters for anyone with allergies or asthma. HEPA rated microfibre goes further again. Two practical points: a bag does not need to be full to hurt performance, since suction drops as the pores clog, and running a bagged machine without a bag fitted pulls dust straight into the motor. Some bundles include replacement filters, which should be changed on the same schedule. Wet and dry vacuums and robot vacuums use their own dedicated bags entirely, so match to the exact model rather than assuming a universal fit.
