Freestanding cookers slot into a gap between units and bring oven and hob together in one appliance, so there is no separate built-in oven or hob to buy. Two decisions settle most of it. Width comes in 50cm, 55cm, 60cm and range sizes of 100cm and 110cm, and the gap you have usually decides for you. Fuel comes down to gas, electric or dual fuel, where a gas hob is paired with an electric oven. On electric models the hob is either solid plate, ceramic or induction, with ceramic the common mid option and induction the fastest and most controllable. Twin cavity and double oven models give you a separate grill or a smaller second oven, which is worth having if you cook two things at different temperatures. Finishes run black, white, cream and stainless steel or silver.

Beko is the largest range, covering 50cm and 60cm twin cavity and double oven electric cookers with ceramic tops in black, white and silver, a 60cm induction double oven model and a 100cm dual fuel range. Leisure covers the Classic 60cm gas and electric cookers in black and cream plus the 100cm and 110cm Cookmaster range cookers. Belling supplies 50cm and 60cm bottled gas LPG cookers, solid plate models and ceramic double ovens. Electrolux and Zanussi handle 55cm and 60cm ceramic and induction models in white, black and stainless steel, with Blomberg, Powerpoint and CDA adding 50cm and 60cm double ovens and a dual fuel cooker with Airfry.
