Warm White Christmas Lights

Warm White Christmas Lights

Warm white is the soft yellow glow people picture when they think of Christmas lights, and it is the safest choice in almost every room of an Irish house. It sits at roughly 2,700 to 3,000 Kelvin, close to an old filament bulb, which is why it flatters a green tree, warms a hallway and photographs well. Cool or bright white sits far higher up the scale and reads blue and crisp by comparison. Neither is wrong, but the two together look like a mistake, so the real decision is to pick one and hold it across the whole house.

Warm White versus Cool White LEDs

Warm white suits traditional schemes, gold and red decorations, wooden floors and anywhere you want the room to feel softer at night. Cool white suits silver and blue schemes, snowy and frosted trees and a modern white interior, and it looks sharper outdoors against a dark garden. If you are mixing indoors and out, keep the house itself consistent and allow the outdoor run to differ, because the two are rarely in view at once.

Which Warm White Set for Which Job

For a tree, a warm white Treebright set sized at roughly 100 LEDs per foot. For density on a shrub, a porch or the front of a tree, warm white cluster lights. For eaves and gutters, warm white icicle lights. For a wreath, a mantelpiece or a windowsill with no socket, a battery warm white set with a timer, or a fine wire Firefly set where you want the cable to vanish into greenery.

Warm white sets here come from Premier, covering Treebrights at 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 LEDs, Clusterbrights from 480 to 3,000, battery sets from 40 to 1,000 LEDs including Microbrights and Ultrabrights, all with timers, and from Festive with the Traditional Firefly fine wire sets.
