Christmas Curtain Lights

Christmas Curtain Lights

A curtain light is a sheet rather than a string: a horizontal run with vertical drops of fine wire hanging from it, sized to fill a window frame. It is the quickest way to make the front of a house read from the road, because a lit window carries far further than anything on a windowsill, and it needs no ladder, no gutter hooks and no outdoor wiring. Hang it inside the glass and the weather never touches it.

Star and Snowflake Curtain Lights

Plain curtain lights give an even sheet of points. Shaped versions work the LEDs into a repeating motif, so a star curtain light reads as a window full of stars and a snowflake one as falling snow, both of which hold their shape from the street where a plain sheet reads as a glow. Rainbow versions cycle colour across the whole panel. Star Christmas lights are one of the most searched Christmas light shapes in Ireland, and a star curtain is the practical way to get that look on a window.

Sizing and Hanging a Curtain Light

Measure the glass rather than the frame. A 1.2 metre by 1.2 metre panel suits a standard square window and can be doubled on a wider one. Fine wire sets are light enough to hang on adhesive clips or small hooks along the top of the reveal with no damage to paint, which matters on a rented or newly decorated house. Keep the transformer or battery box at the bottom corner where it is hidden by the sill.

Curtain lights here are Premier Flexibrights, in 258 LED star and 267 LED snowflake panels at 1.2 metres square, in warm white and rainbow. For the windowsill itself see candle bridges, for adhesive hooks see Christmas electrics and setup, and for the full range see Christmas lights.
