Shower Accessories

Everything that goes in or around a shower once the shower itself is fitted, in three groups. Storage is the biggest: a shower caddy or organiser holds bottles off the floor, either hooking over the riser rail, mounting in a corner, or fixing to tile with suction or adhesive. Corner baskets and wire baskets come in single, two tier and three tier, and the hook-over versions need no fixing at all, which matters in a rented house or on tile you would rather not drill. Cleaning and safety come next: a shower squeegee pulled down the glass after each use is the single easiest way to stop limescale and water marks building up, a non-slip shower mat gives grip on an enamel or acrylic tray, and a drain hair stopper prevents the slow blockage that eventually needs a plumber. Third is mobility, and this is a real category rather than an afterthought: grab rails in 300mm, 450mm, 600mm and 750mm in plastic or chrome steel, hinged rails with and without a support leg, and shower seats and stools in fixed, folding wall-mounted, backrest and armrest versions.
