Drawer hardware and organisation for kitchen and bedroom units, and the measurement that matters is the runner length, not the drawer width. Runner length is the depth from the front of the cabinet to the back, and it must be equal to or shorter than the internal cabinet depth, so measure the carcass before ordering. Lengths here run 300mm, 350mm, 400mm, 450mm, 500mm, 550mm and 700mm. There are two mechanisms and they are not interchangeable. Bottom fix screw-on runners mount underneath the drawer box, are the cheaper and simpler option and suit lighter loads. Heavy duty telescopic ball bearing runners mount on the side, carry up to 45kg per pair, pull out fully so the back of the drawer is reachable, and run far more smoothly under weight, which is what you want for a pan drawer or a filing drawer. Soft close adds a damper that catches the drawer in the last few centimetres. Inside the drawer, cutlery inserts are sized to the cabinet width rather than the drawer, in 400mm, 500mm, 800mm, 900mm and 1000mm, and expandable wooden trays adjust to fit 700mm to 1000mm units. Crockery peg boards hold plates upright in a deep drawer.
