Shower Rails

Two different products share this name and it is worth knowing which one you need before ordering. A shower curtain rail or track holds the curtain and spans the bath or enclosure wall to wall, while a riser rail is the vertical bar the shower head slides up and down on. Curtain rails come fixed, extending or bendable, and the choice follows the shape of the run: a straight rail suits a standard bath alcove, an extending rail adjusts to the span without cutting, and a bendable track is the answer for a curved or shaped run, a corner, or a ceiling mounted installation where a rigid rail will not follow the line. Measure the full span wall to wall and choose an extending rail that covers that figure comfortably inside its range rather than at the very top of it, because a rail stretched to its limit loses grip on the wall. Extending options here run 140cm to 260cm and a long expander spans 750mm to 2200mm. Riser rails work the other way round, because replacement sliders and head brackets are sized by the diameter of the existing bar rather than by length. Measure the bar before ordering: the sizes stocked are 19mm, 22mm and 25mm, and a universal bracket is the safer choice if you cannot measure accurately. Complete kits pairing hose, head and rail together save matching parts up and remove the risk of a bracket that does not fit the bar.
