LED count is what decides whether a tree looks finished or sparse, and most people badly underestimate it. As a working guide, allow roughly 100 lights per foot of tree height for a full look, so a 7 foot tree wants around 700 and a large or wide tree considerably more. The counts here run 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000, which covers a standard domestic tree through to a large hall or commercial display. Colour temperature changes the whole effect: warm white reads golden and traditional and flatters green foliage and gold decorations, cool white is crisper and more modern and works with silver and blue schemes, and multi coloured is the brightest and best suited to a children's tree. Multi action means the set includes several sequences such as chasing, fading and steady rather than only flashing, and steady is worth having because most people settle on it. An integrated timer is the feature that matters day to day, switching the lights on and off at the same time each evening without being touched, which saves both power and the nightly job of remembering. Check whether a set is rated for outdoor use before hanging it outside, as indoor sets are not weatherproof.
