Setup and Care

Initial charge and Windows setup:

Connect the Surface Connect magnetic charger and fully charge the battery before first use. Open the lid and press the power button. Follow the on-screen Windows setup wizard to configure your language, Wi-Fi, and Microsoft account. Windows will download and install the latest updates during initial setup.

Using the touchscreen and external displays:

The 10-point PixelSense touchscreen responds to tap, swipe, pinch, and zoom gestures. For handwriting and drawing, pair a Surface Pen (sold separately) by pressing and holding the top button to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Connect an external monitor or projector via the USB-C port (DisplayPort output) for presentations, dual-screen workflows, or home office setups.

Connectivity and charging options:

The magnetic Surface Connect charger is the primary charging method, with Fast Charge reaching 80% in about 1 hour.
