Setup and Care

Initial charge and connectivity setup:

Charge the headset fully via the USB-C to USB-A cable before first use. For 2.4GHz wireless gaming, insert the USB-C HyperSpeed dongle into your PC, PlayStation, or Steam Deck (use the USB-A adapter if needed). The headset pairs automatically with the dongle. For Bluetooth, press and hold the multi-function button for 7 seconds to enter pairing mode, then select Razer Kraken V4 from your device's Bluetooth settings.

Installing Razer Synapse and configuring audio profiles:

Download Razer Synapse 4 on your PC for full access to EQ customisation, THX Spatial Audio settings, Chroma RGB lighting configuration, and microphone settings. Select from 4 onboard audio profiles (Game, Movie, Music, Custom) by tapping the multi-function button on the headset. Enable THX Spatial Audio for 7.1 surround sound and browse the 60+ custom-tuned game profiles for positional audio tuned to specific titles.

Using SmartSwitch Dual Wireless and the retractable microphone:

With SmartSwitch enabled, the headset maintains both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connections simultaneously. An incoming Bluetooth call automatically pauses game audio and routes the call to the headset; game audio resumes when the call ends. Pull the microphone down from the left earcup to extend it for team chat, and push it back flush into the earcup when not needed.

Care and storage:

Store the headset in a cool, dry place when not in use. Wipe the earpads and headband with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid exposure to excessive moisture. Keep the USB-C charging port clear of dust and debris. Charge the battery periodically even during extended periods of non-use to maintain battery health. The memory foam earpads are not user-replaceable on the standard V4 model.
