Five Zones with DoubleBridge Flexibility:

The EIV84550 gives you five 210 mm induction zones, each with up to 9 power levels and a PowerBoost output of 3200 W per zone. The DoubleBridge function merges two pairs of adjacent zones into a single large cooking surface, automatically aligning temperature and timer settings across the merged area - a practical solution for griddle plates, fish kettles, or any oversized cookware.

Hob²Hood® Wireless Ventilation Control:

When paired with a compatible Electrolux cooker hood, the Hob²Hood® wireless function adjusts the hood's extraction speed and lighting automatically in response to the power level you select on the hob. There is no manual switching required at the hood itself, and the connection is wireless, keeping the kitchen tidy.

Practical Safety and Energy-Saving Features:

Heat Memory retains your temperature settings for 120 seconds if a pan is lifted or a spillage triggers a zone pause, so there is no need to reset the cooking level when you return. The EcoTimer™ function cuts power to a zone before your set countdown ends, letting residual heat finish the cooking and reducing energy use. OptiHeat Control displays a 3-step residual heat indicator so you can see at a glance whether a zone is safe to touch.

Touch Controls and Child Lock:

Penguin-series touch sensor controls sit flush beneath the black glass surface and include a child lock, individual zone timers for all five zones, and a Pause (Stop & Go) function that holds all active zone settings simultaneously. The LED indicators are red and clearly legible against the black panel.

Installation and Build:

OptiFix™ reduces hob installation to a single-step process via an automated clip mechanism, saving time during a kitchen fit-out. The bevelled edge on one side gives a neat finish between the hob and worktop. The cutout required is 750 mm wide by 490 mm deep, and the hob connects via hardwired supply at 220-240 V / 400 V 2N, 50 Hz.

Setup and Care

Installation:

The EIV84550 requires a cutout of 750 mm wide by 490 mm deep with a minimum depth of 44 mm. The OptiFix™ clip mechanism secures the hob in a single step. Connection is hardwired at 220-240 V / 400 V 2N, 50 Hz and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Compatible Cookware:

Use induction-compatible cookware with a flat, magnetic base. You can test compatibility by checking whether a magnet adheres to the base of the pan. The Pan Detection feature will indicate if unsuitable cookware is placed on a zone.

Cleaning the Hob Surface:

Wipe the black glass surface with a damp cloth and a mild detergent after each use, once the surface has cooled. The OptiHeat Control indicator confirms when it is safe to clean. Avoid abrasive pads or cleaners that may scratch the glass.

Routine Care:

Remove the protective film from the hob surface before first use. Use the child lock when the hob is not in use to prevent accidental activation. Refer to the user manual for guidance on resetting zone timers and using the Pause function across all five zones.
