The Jackery SolarSaga 80W uses monocrystalline solar cells on the front face with extra-white glass on the rear panel that has a 95% transmittance rate. This dual-sided design allows the panel to capture reflected and diffused sunlight from below, boosting the overall conversion efficiency to 25%. The rear glass absorbs light reflected from surfaces such as concrete, sand, gravel, and light-coloured ground, generating additional power that single-sided panels miss. The included reflective lined carrying bag can be positioned beneath the panel to further amplify rear-side generation.

The IP68 rating confirms the SolarSaga 80W is fully dustproof and waterproof, operating reliably in rain, snow, and dusty conditions (note: the DC port cover should remain closed when not in use as the port itself is not waterproof). Setup and Care

Unfolding, positioning, and connecting:

Remove the SolarSaga 80W from its carrying bag. Unfold the panel and deploy the built-in adjustable kickstand. Position the panel facing direct sunlight and adjust the kickstand angle for optimal solar absorption. Connect the DC output cable to your compatible Jackery Explorer power station. For additional reach, attach the included 2-metre extension cable between the panel and the station.

Maximising output with the reflective carrying bag:

For additional rear-side generation, open the reflective lined carrying bag and lay it flat beneath the solar panel. The reflective surface directs extra sunlight towards the rear glass, boosting overall output. Position the panel on a bright or reflective surface (concrete, sand, light gravel) for the best bifacial performance. Reposition the panel every 1-2 hours to follow the sun's movement.

Connecting multiple panels for faster charging:

Up to 12 SolarSaga 80W panels can be connected simultaneously to a compatible Jackery Explorer power station using parallel connectors (sold separately). Check your Explorer model's maximum solar input wattage to determine the optimal number of panels. Each panel operates independently, so partial shading on one panel does not affect the output of others in the array.

Cleaning, storage, and long-term care:

Wipe the front and rear glass surfaces with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, pollen, and dirt that reduce efficiency. Avoid abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners. After use, fold the panel, place in the carrying bag, and store in a dry location. The IP68 rating protects during rain, but ensure the DC port cover is closed when not connected. Inspect the cable and connector periodically for wear. The rubber corner bumpers protect during transport but should be checked for damage after extended use.
