Flexible, clear protection for exterior wood:

Sadolin Extra Durable Clearcoat is a solvent-based clear satin finish for exterior softwoods and hardwoods, including doors, windows, conservatories, and cladding. Its flexible formulation expands and contracts with the timber, significantly reducing the risk of blistering, cracking, and flaking over time.

Preserves the natural look of timber:

This clearcoat delivers the protective performance of a woodstain with minimal pigment, keeping the natural grain and character of your timber visible. On lighter-coloured woods, it imparts a subtle golden warmth rather than hiding the grain beneath a solid colour.

Active UV filters and weather resistance:

Built-in active UV filters combat sun and weathering damage to extend the working life of exterior joinery. The microporous barrier allows moisture vapour to escape from within the timber while blocking water ingress from outside, keeping the substrate stable through seasonal changes.

Application and coverage:

Apply with a good quality, long-haired soft bristle brush. Coverage is up to 15 sq m per litre on smooth planed timber, with two coats recommended for a standard maintenance application. Where no base coat is used, three full coats are advised. Touch dry in 4 to 6 hours; recoatable in 16 to 24 hours. Do not apply below 8°C or above 25°C, and ensure the timber moisture content does not exceed 18% before coating.
