Setup and Care

Installation:

Position the GD 498-80 on a firm, level surface and connect the inlet hose to a cold water supply. Remove transit bolts before first use - these are supplied with the machine and must be kept for future moves. Recess dimensions required are 850 mm H x 600 mm W x 600 mm D.

Everyday use:

Use a detergent suitable for the programme selected and follow the garment care label for the correct cycle. The 24-hour start delay allows you to schedule washes around off-peak electricity tariffs or your daily routine.

Keeping the machine clean:

Run the Drum Clean programme periodically to maintain drum hygiene. The Smart Spray function automatically cleans the door gasket after each cycle, and the Clean Shield system provides ongoing antibacterial protection for the drawer and drum seal.

Long-term care:

Clean the detergent drawer regularly by removing it fully and rinsing under warm water. Check and clean the pump filter every few months to keep the drain system clear. If stacking this machine with a compatible dryer, use a Candy-approved stacking kit for a secure installation.
