The De Vielle DEFAV006 ash filter vacuum is designed specifically for removing cold ash from wood burners, multifuel stoves, open fires, fire pits, and barbecues. Running on 230V at 1200W, it delivers consistent suction without placing any strain on the filtration system. Unlike a standard household hoover, every component here - from the metal canister to the hose fittings - is built to handle the fine, abrasive particles that ash produces.

Double Chamber Design for Better Separation:

The DEFAV006 uses a Double Chamber system, with a 16L main chamber and a 9L secondary chamber, giving a combined 25L capacity. This dual-chamber layout separates coarser ash and debris from finer particles before they reach the filter stages, which means less frequent emptying and a longer service life for each filter. The robust metal canister is stable during use and straightforward to empty when full.

3-Stage Filtration to Protect the Motor and the Room:

Three separate filters work in sequence to prevent fine ash and dust from returning to the air. The first is a metal wire pre-filter that stops small stones and larger particles. The second is a large washable fabric bag filter made from fibreglass cloth, which captures dust-sized particles and can be rinsed clean and reused. All three filters are included in the box, and the fabric bag and HEPA filter are both washable, so there are no ongoing consumable costs.

Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Attach the flexible hose and aluminium nozzle before first use. Ensure all three filters are correctly seated in the chamber before switching the unit on. Always confirm that ash is fully cold before beginning any vacuuming.

Filter Maintenance:

The fabric bag filter and HEPA filter are both washable - rinse under clean water and allow to dry fully before reinserting. The metal pre-filter can be tapped clean over a bin. Regular cleaning of all three filters keeps suction performance consistent over time.

Emptying the Chambers:

Empty both the main 16L chamber and the 9L secondary chamber when full. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated area when emptying to avoid disturbing fine ash dust. The metal canister construction makes it straightforward to wipe clean after emptying.

Storage:

Use the Velcro cord wrap to keep the power cable tidy when the unit is not in use. Store in a dry location away from heat sources. Ensure the filters are dry before closing the unit for storage.
