Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite - Camera-Based TV Backlight for 75-85 Inch Screens

Real-Time Screen Colour Syncing:

The Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite uses Govee Envisual Technology - a single camera with a 180-degree field of view - to capture your screen's colours in real time and replicate them across a 16.4ft LED strip fitted with 150 RGBICW lamp beads. That means the bias lighting behind your TV shifts with every scene change, whether you are watching a film, playing a game, or streaming content. The strip runs at 30 LEDs per metre and delivers 120 lm/m of output at 36W and 12V.

Fish-Eye Correction and Black Bars Exclusion:

Unlike earlier camera-based backlights, the 3 Lite includes a Fish-Eye Correction Function that compensates for lens distortion, extending the effective colour-matching range to the edges of the screen for a more accurate result. The Black Bars Exclusion feature ensures that letterbox bars on films do not skew the colour output, so the lighting reflects only the actual on-screen content rather than empty black space.

RGBICW Colour - Four Colours in One Bead:

The RGBICW lamp beads combine red, green, blue, and independently controllable segments with an additional warm white chip. The warm white element allows the strip to produce more natural tones during darker or warmer scenes, going beyond what a standard RGB or RGBIC strip can achieve. Each segment of the strip can display a different colour simultaneously, giving smooth gradient and zone effects across the full length.

Gravitational Hanging Design for Ultra-Thin TVs:

The camera uses a Gravity-mechanism Structure that hangs from the top of the TV without requiring a thick bezel for support. This makes the 3 Lite compatible with ultra-thin modern TV panels with a thickness of 4 mm to 35 mm. Note that curved TVs are not supported, and the strip is designed for indoor use only.

App, Voice, and Music Control:

The Govee Home App gives full control over colour, brightness, scene modes, and scheduling via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz only - 5 GHz is not supported) and Bluetooth. The strip also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control. Eleven music modes are included, and the AI Generative Lighting feature in the app allows you to convert voice, text, or image input into a custom lighting effect. Within the Govee DreamView ecosystem, the 3 Lite can sync with up to 7 additional Govee sub-devices. Blank Screen Detection automatically turns the lights off when a static or blank screen is detected.

Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Download the Govee Home App and create an account before beginning installation. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz, as the 3 Lite does not support 5 GHz connections. The setup process is guided step-by-step within the app.

Mounting the Strip:

Clean the back edges of your TV with a dry cloth before applying the adhesive backing. Route the strip around all four edges of the TV, starting from the bottom corner nearest the control box. Use the included mounting clips at corners for a firm hold.

Positioning the Camera:

Hang the camera from the top centre of the TV using the Gravity-mechanism Structure. The camera should face the screen directly. Run the calibration process in the Govee Home App using the included calibration cards to set the camera's colour-matching range accurately.

Care and Maintenance:

The strip is for indoor use only and should be kept away from moisture. Wipe the camera lens gently with a soft dry cloth if dust accumulates. All settings and scene modes are managed via the Govee Home App, which receives regular firmware updates to add new features and improve performance.
