No primer, no undercoat - direct to metal or rust:

Hammerite Ultima is a water-based metal paint formulated to go straight onto bare metal, previously painted surfaces, or directly onto rust, without any priming step. The 3-in-1 formula combines primer, undercoat, and topcoat in a single tin, saving time and reducing the number of products needed on the job. Two coats are sufficient for a full, durable finish.

Up to 12 years of weather protection:

Once dry, Ultima forms a highly weather-resistant barrier that protects metal from rust and corrosion for up to 12 years. The smooth finish is suitable for gates, railings, garden furniture, and all types of outdoor metalwork. Coverage is 7.5m² per litre, so this 750ml tin covers approximately 5.6m² in two coats.

Colour Lock Technology for lasting colour:

Hammerite Ultima features Colour Lock Technology, which incorporates enhanced UV protection to shield pigments from the discolouration caused by sun exposure. This keeps the Ruby Red finish bright and glossy for longer compared to standard metal paints without UV-stabilised pigments.

Low VOC and odourless formula:

The water-based formulation has a VOC content of 0.3% to 7.99% and is odourless during application, making it more comfortable to use in outdoor spaces or in confined areas with limited ventilation. Touch dry in 2 hours, with a recoat time of 4 hours, so both coats can typically be applied in a single day.
