Broadband without the Fixed Line:

The TL-MR6400 plugs straight into your 4G mobile network via a standard Nano SIM card, so you can get online without waiting for a fixed-line installation. It delivers LTE Cat4 download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, then shares that connection wirelessly at up to 300 Mbps across the 2.4 GHz band to as many as 32 devices simultaneously.

Plug-and-Play SIM Compatibility:

TP-Link has field-tested SIM compatibility across more than 100 countries, so the router works straight out of the box with the major Irish and European mobile networks. Simply insert your Nano SIM, power on the device, and the router detects your network automatically - no manual APN configuration required for most carriers.

WAN Failover and Wired Router Mode:

The dedicated LAN/WAN port lets you connect a cable, DSL, or fibre modem directly to the TL-MR6400, using it as a conventional wireless router. With WAN Failover active, the router switches automatically between the wired connection and 4G so your devices stay online if either connection drops.

Manage from Your Phone with Tether:

The free TP-Link Tether app for Android and iOS gives you full remote control over the router - monitor connected devices, set up parental controls, configure access restrictions, and check network status without logging into a browser interface. A 2.4 GHz Guest Network keeps visiting devices on a separate, isolated connection.

Built-in Security Features:

Setup and Care

Getting Connected:

Insert your Nano SIM card into the slot on the side of the router, connect the power adapter, and power on the device. The TL-MR6400 detects your network automatically on most major carriers, so you can connect via Wi-Fi or the included Ethernet cable within minutes of unboxing.

App Management:

Download the free TP-Link Tether app on your Android or iOS device to manage your network remotely. From the app you can view connected devices, configure parental controls and access schedules, and monitor your 4G connection status at any time.

Placement Tips:

Position the router in a central, elevated location away from thick walls, metal surfaces, and other wireless devices operating on 2.4 GHz. The two detachable external antennas can be angled to improve signal coverage across different rooms.

Keeping It in Good Order:

Wipe the outer casing with a dry or slightly damp cloth only. Keep the router in a well-ventilated spot and ensure the vents are not blocked, as adequate airflow helps maintain stable performance during extended use. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C.
