Brush choice follows the job rather than the paint. Round sash brushes are built for cutting a clean line around window frames and mouldings, in sizes from 12mm up to 25mm for finer or wider trim. Pro-D synthetic brushes give even pick-up and release across both water and solvent-based paints, which makes them the practical everyday choice for walls and woodwork alike. Weatherguard masonry brushes are built tougher for rough exterior render and brick, where a standard brush would wear out quickly. Kalsomine and lining fitch brushes cover specialist jobs such as ceiling distemper and fine detail work that a general-purpose brush isn't shaped for, and a tester pot brush is sized specifically for trying a colour before committing to a full tin.
