Games are chosen by the group playing rather than by the box, and the range divides along those lines. Family board games are the largest part and cover the classics everyone already knows the rules to, snakes and ladders in flat and 3D versions, draughts, ludo, noughts and crosses, bingo and line up four, along with quick pick-and-play formats designed to be finished inside half an hour rather than an evening. Party and guessing games such as head guess, who's who and shaking surgeon work for a mixed-age group where nobody wants to learn a rulebook. Educational games hide the learning inside familiar stories, with maths and spelling titles built around well-known characters. Jigsaw puzzles and 3D construction footballs sit alongside for solo or quiet play. Player count and playing time on the box are more useful than the age guide when choosing for a group.
