Tara Lane Furniture - Mink

Mink is a warm grey-brown neutral, and buying furniture as a colourway rather than as individual pieces is the point of a collection like this: the console, the sideboard and the lamp are finished to match, so they read as a set in a hallway or living room rather than as separate purchases that nearly go together. That matters most on pieces seen together in one sightline. A console table is a narrow, tall table designed to sit against a wall rather than in the middle of a room, and depth is the specification that decides whether it works: it needs to be shallow enough not to narrow a hallway while still holding lamps, keys and post. Length is chosen against the wall it sits on rather than against the room, and the range here runs 90cm, 120cm and 130cm. Versions with a drawer add storage that a plain console lacks, which is the practical difference in a hall. An antique mirror top reflects light back into a dark hallway and hides marks better than a plain surface. A sideboard is lower and deeper, intended for a dining or living room where the top becomes a serving or display surface. A rechargeable table lamp needs no socket nearby, which is what makes it usable on a console away from a wall outlet.

Tara Lane supplies the range in mink. Console tables cover the Scroll at 90cm with a drawer, 120cm with an antique mirror top and 130cm. Also stocked are a sideboard table with drawer and the Neo USB rechargeable table lamp. For the wider range see Console Tables and Furniture.
