ASUS VivoBook 17 - a 17.3 Inch Laptop Built for Everyday Productivity

A large, comfortable screen for work and home use:

The 17.3-inch Full HD IPS-level display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with an anti-glare coating and an 86% screen-to-body ratio, making it easy to read documents, browse the web, or watch content without straining your eyes. TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light and TUV Rheinland Flicker Free certifications mean the screen is kinder on your eyes during longer sessions. The NanoEdge bezel keeps the overall footprint tight for a laptop of this display size.

Capable everyday performance:

At the heart of this laptop is an Intel Core 5 120U processor running at up to 5.0GHz across 10 cores and 12 threads, paired with 8GB DDR4-3200 RAM and a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD. The SSD delivers noticeably faster boot times and application loading compared to a traditional hard drive, and there is a spare SO-DIMM slot allowing you to upgrade to 16GB RAM at a later stage if needed.

Built to last and easy to carry:

Despite its large screen, the VivoBook 17 weighs just 2.1 kg and measures 19.9 mm at its thinnest point, making it manageable to carry between rooms or take out. The chassis has passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability testing, covering drops, dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. ASUS Antimicrobial Guard Plus surface treatment is applied to frequently touched areas to inhibit bacterial growth over time.

Connectivity, audio, and privacy:

The X1704VA-AU811W comes with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.2 for fast, reliable wireless connections. Ports include two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and HDMI 1.4. ASUS SonicMaster dual speakers with Audio by Dirac deliver clear sound, while the built-in array microphone features AI noise cancelling for cleaner audio on calls. A physical privacy shutter sits over the 720p HD webcam so you can block the camera without needing any software setting.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Charge the laptop fully using the supplied 45W USB-C adapter before first use. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed, so you can follow the on-screen setup to connect to Wi-Fi and sign in with a Microsoft account to get started quickly.

Keeping it clean:

Wipe the screen with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust and smudges. ASUS Antimicrobial Guard Plus is applied to the keyboard and touchpad surfaces, but a gentle wipe-down with a lightly dampened cloth will keep the casing looking well. Avoid using solvent-based cleaners on any surface.

Storage and transport:

The included carry bag protects the laptop in transit. Store the laptop in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture when not in use. The 180-degree hinge makes it easy to lay the screen flat for safe packing.

Battery care:

For day-to-day use, keeping the battery between 20% and 80% charge helps maintain long-term battery health. If storing the laptop for an extended period, charge it to around 50% first. The 50Wh built-in battery is not user-replaceable; contact ASUS support if a battery service is needed.
