Setup and Care

Getting started:

Place the machine on a firm, level surface with adequate clearance above for the bean hopper and around the sides for ventilation. Fill the 2.5-litre water tank with fresh, cold water and fit it firmly back into position. Run a rinse cycle before your first brew to flush the system through, then prime the grinder with your chosen beans before pulling your first shot.

Daily use tips:

Use the Smart Tamping Station lever with a steady, single downward press for consistent results. Adjust the grind setting one step at a time and allow one or two shots before assessing the change - the 15 grind settings give plenty of room to dial in your preferred bean. Keep the drip tray emptied regularly, as the indicator will alert you when it is approaching capacity.

Cleaning the milk system:

After each use, rinse the LatteCrema Hot carafe with warm water and run the auto-clean cycle where prompted by the machine. The My LatteArt steam wand should be wiped with a damp cloth immediately after steaming and purged briefly to clear any residual milk from the tip. Both milk components disassemble for a more thorough wash when needed.

Descaling and long-term care:

The machine monitors usage and prompts you when descaling is due. Use the included De'Longhi descaler following the on-screen guide for best results. Store the bean hopper away from direct sunlight to preserve bean freshness, and keep the portafilter basket free of old grounds between sessions by rinsing and drying after each use.
