The DCF900N features a 4-mode push-button speed selector delivering 650, 1,040, and 2,300 RPM in standard modes, with a dedicated PRECISION WRENCH mode to help prevent overtightening in forward and run-off in reverse. Each mode produces a distinct torque output - 135 Nm, 800 Nm, and 1,396 Nm respectively - giving the user precise control across a wide range of fastening applications. The variable speed trigger adds a further layer of control during demanding tasks.

1,396 Nm fastening torque and 1,898 Nm breakaway torque:

This impact wrench is built for applications that require serious rotational force - pipe flanges, grooved couplings, wheel lugs, concrete anchor bolt setting, and heavy construction fastening. In reverse, the wrench reaches 1,898 Nm of breakaway torque to free seized and corroded fasteners that would otherwise require pneumatic tools. Setup and Care

Getting started:

The DCF900N is compatible with all DeWalt 18V XR lithium-ion batteries. Fit a fully charged battery, select the appropriate speed mode using the push-button selector, and attach the correct 1/2" drive socket via the hog ring retainer before use.

Selecting the right mode:

Use modes 1 and 2 (135 Nm and 800 Nm) for lighter fastening work where torque precision is important. Mode 3 (1,396 Nm) is suited to heavy structural and automotive applications. PRECISION WRENCH mode is recommended when overtightening must be avoided, such as on flanged joints or calibrated fixings.

Battery care and BATTERYGUARD:

BATTERYGUARD reduces vibration transfer to the battery during high-torque impacts, but removing the battery from the tool after use and storing it at room temperature will further extend its service life. Avoid leaving batteries fully discharged for extended periods.

General maintenance:

Keep the drive anvil and hog ring retainer clean and free of debris to ensure reliable socket engagement. Wipe the housing with a dry cloth after use - the oil-resistant glass-filled nylon construction handles site conditions well but benefits from regular cleaning to prevent build-up around the motor vents.
