4-mode membrane switch with Precision Wrench for controlled fastening:

The 4-mode membrane switch lets you select different speed and power settings to match each application. Precision Wrench mode prevents over-tightening in the forward direction and uncontrolled nut run-off in reverse, giving you controlled, repeatable fastening on critical joints where torque accuracy matters. The variable-speed trigger provides smooth, progressive control from a standing start to full speed, allowing delicate starts on fine-thread fasteners and full-power impact on seized or rusted bolts.

Setup and Care

Battery charging and first use:

Charge the included 5.0Ah McLaren F1 battery fully using the supplied charger before first use. Slide the charged battery onto the base of the wrench until it clicks into place. Attach a 1/2 inch impact-rated socket to the hog ring anvil by pushing it on until it clicks. Use impact-rated sockets only: standard chrome vanadium sockets are not designed for repeated impacts and may shatter.

Selecting modes and using Precision Wrench:

Use the 4-mode membrane switch to select the appropriate power setting. Mode 1 provides the lowest speed for light fastening. Modes 2 and 3 increase speed and impact force for medium and heavy applications. Precision Wrench mode controls the final stage of fastening, preventing over-tightening in forward and uncontrolled nut run-off in reverse. Use Precision Wrench for critical joints, hub nuts, and any fastener with a specified torque value.

Variable-speed trigger and LED operation:

Squeeze the variable-speed trigger gradually for progressive control. A light squeeze provides slow, controlled starts for positioning fasteners, whilst a full squeeze delivers maximum speed and impact force. The adjustable LED activates when the trigger is pressed and can be set to different brightness levels using the brightness control. Aim the LED into the work area before starting the fastener.

Maintenance, storage, and warranty registration:

The brushless motor requires no brush replacement. Keep the air vents clear of dust, oil, and debris. Wipe the tool body with a dry cloth after use. Clean the hog ring anvil regularly to ensure sockets lock securely. Store in the TSTAK case. Register the wrench at MyDeWalt within 4 weeks of purchase to extend the warranty from 1 year to 3 years.
