Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Charge both supplied 5.0Ah batteries fully before first use using the included DCB115 multi-voltage charger. Insert an SDS-Plus bit by pulling back the chuck collar, pushing the bit in until it clicks, and releasing - no tools required. Attach the side handle and set the depth stop rod to your required drilling depth before beginning work.

Choosing the Right Mode:

Use Rotary Hammer mode for concrete, brick, and masonry drilling. Switch to Rotary Only mode when drilling into wood or metal, or when driving fixings. The mode selector is positioned on the tool body for quick access without removing gloves.

Battery Care:

Store batteries at room temperature and away from direct sunlight when not in use. Avoid fully depleting the battery before recharging to help maintain long-term capacity. The DCB115 charger is compatible with all DeWalt 18V XR Li-Ion battery packs in the DCB18x series.

Maintenance and Cleaning:

After use, remove any dust from the motor vents and chuck area using a dry cloth or compressed air - avoid water ingress near electrical components. Inspect the SDS-Plus chuck periodically and apply a small amount of grease to bit shanks to reduce wear on the chuck mechanism. Store the tool in its TSTAK case to protect it from dust and impact on site.
