Two brushless drills, one battery platform:

The DCK2033X2-GB pairs DeWalt's DCH333 SDS+ hammer drill with the DCD996 brushless combi drill on a shared XR FlexVolt battery platform. Both tools run on the two included DCB547 9.0Ah batteries, which switch automatically between 54V in the DCH333 and 18V in the DCD996 — no separate batteries required for either tool.

DCH333 SDS+ hammer drill - runtime and control:

The DCH333 delivers 3.5 J of impact energy (EPTA 05/2009) and drills more than 66 anchor holes (18 mm diameter × 80 mm deep) per charge. Three modes — Rotary, SDS Hammer, and Chisel Only — cover fixing holes up to 30 mm in concrete, masonry anchoring, and light chiselling. DeWalt's Perform & Protect system keeps vibration at 8.5 m/s², reducing user fatigue during extended overhead or confined-space work. The integrated LED job light reaches 60 lumens and functions as a standalone torch when needed.

DCD996 combi drill - torque and versatility:

The DCD996 produces 95 Nm of torque in hard application mode across three gears, with no-load speeds of 0-450, 0-1,300, and 0-2,000 rpm. The 11-position electronic clutch gives precise torque control for screwdriving into different materials, and the keyless 13 mm all-metal nitro-carbonised chuck with carbide inserts resists corrosion and grips bits firmly. Drilling capacities reach 55 mm in wood, 15 mm in metal, and 16 mm in masonry. The XRP gearbox delivers up to 38,250 bpm in hammer mode for effective masonry work.

DCB118 charger and TOUGHSYSTEM storage:

The included DCB118 multi-voltage fast charger is compatible with both 18V XR and 54V FlexVolt batteries and charges efficiently between 4°C and 40°C. Its LED indicator communicates charge status, power problems, and battery temperature warnings. The kit is packed in a DeWalt DS300 TOUGHSYSTEM tool box, which is compatible with the full TOUGHSYSTEM modular storage range for site or van organisation.

The DCK2033X2-GB carries a standard 1-year limited warranty, extendable to 3 years when registered within 28 days of purchase at the DeWalt website. The extended warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship; batteries, chargers, and consumables are excluded from the extended term.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Insert a fully charged DCB547 battery into each tool before first use. The DCB118 charger accepts both 18V XR and 54V FlexVolt batteries and charges between 4°C and 40°C for best results. Check the LED indicator on the charger to confirm charge status before beginning work.

Selecting the correct mode:

On the DCH333, rotate the mode selector to Rotary for drilling, SDS Hammer for concrete and masonry, or Chisel Only for light breaking work. On the DCD996, use the 11-position clutch ring to match torque output to the fastener and material, and select the appropriate gear for the task.

Ongoing maintenance:

Wipe both tools down after use and check the chuck and SDS+ tool holder for debris or wear regularly. Store batteries at room temperature and avoid leaving them fully discharged for extended periods. The DS300 TOUGHSYSTEM box keeps the kit protected and organised between jobs.

Safety and handling:

Always fit the side handle on both tools before sustained drilling or hammering. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and anti-vibration gloves when using the DCH333 in hammer mode for prolonged periods. Follow all safety guidance in the included instruction manuals before first use.
