At just 190 mm in length and 1.8 kg with the 5.0Ah battery fitted, the DCD796P1 is built to work where larger drills struggle. Two-Speed Gearbox and Adjustable Torque:

The all-metal 2-speed transmission gives 0-550 rpm in Gear 1 for controlled screwdriving and 0-2,000 rpm in Gear 2 for faster drilling. Fifteen clutch positions allow precise torque adjustment when driving fixings into timber or board materials. The 13 mm single-piece keyless chuck accepts bits from 1.5 mm up to 13 mm diameter.

Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Charge the DCB184 battery using the included DCB115 Multi-Voltage XR Charger before first use - a full charge takes approximately 75 minutes. Fit the battery until it clicks firmly into the base of the drill, then select the appropriate speed and torque setting for your material before beginning work.

Choosing the Right Setting:

Use Gear 1 (0-550 rpm) with a lower clutch position for driving screws into softwood or sheet materials, and Gear 2 (0-2,000 rpm) for faster drilling through wood and metal. Switch to hammer mode for masonry work, keeping the drill speed steady and applying consistent forward pressure for best results.

Keeping the Tool in Good Condition:

After use, wipe the drill body and chuck with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris, paying particular attention to the ventilation slots. Store the battery at room temperature and avoid leaving it fully discharged for extended periods, as this helps maintain long-term capacity.

Battery Care:

The LED charge indicator on the DCB184 battery shows remaining charge at the press of a button. Recharge the battery before it is fully depleted where possible, and store the TSTAK kitbox in a dry location away from direct sunlight or moisture.
