The choice across this range comes down to corded, cordless or push, and it maps to garden size rather than preference. Corded electric tools give unlimited run time for as long as the cable reaches and cost less for the same power, which suits a garden within extension-lead distance of the house and jobs that take a while, such as trimming a long hedge or scarifying a lawn. Cordless 18V tools remove the cable entirely, and the important thing about them is the shared battery platform: one battery fits across the trimmer, mower, chainsaw, strimmer and blower, so a second tool bought bare costs far less than a full kit. Push mowers need no power at all and suit a small level lawn. Beyond that, match the cut to the job. Hedge trimmer blade length decides reach, running 45cm to 60cm here, and a telescopic pole version reaches a tall hedge or high branch from the ground rather than off a ladder. Chainsaw bar length sets the thickness you can cut. Strimmer cutting width decides how fast an edge is finished. A shredder turns prunings into mulch rather than green waste to be carted away, and a verticutter or scarifier lifts moss and thatch out of a lawn.
