How the camera gets power and where the footage is stored are the two decisions that matter, and they cost more to change later than the camera itself. On power, a battery camera mounts anywhere in minutes with no cabling, and a paired solar panel keeps it topped up so the battery rarely needs bringing indoors, which is what makes solar the practical choice for a shed, gate or far corner. A wired camera never needs charging but needs a cable run. PoE, meaning Power over Ethernet, carries both power and data down one network cable, which is the most reliable option for a permanent multi-camera install and the one that will not drop off WiFi. A 4G model with a SIM works where there is no broadband at all. On storage, Eufy records locally to the camera or to a HomeBase or NVR rather than requiring a cloud subscription, and an NVR system centralises several cameras onto one recorder with continuous rather than event-only recording. Beyond that: 2K is adequate to identify a vehicle, 4K to read detail; pan and tilt covers a wide area from one point instead of fixing one view; and a floodlight or wall light camera doubles as lighting, which deters as well as records.

Eufy supplies the whole range. Solar and battery cameras cover the SoloCam S40 and S4 with panels, S220 2K twin pack with panels, C210 2K with panel, the E42 2 plus 1 kit, the eufyCam C31 Solo wired, the Cam 2 Pro kit with HomeBase 2 and a standalone C10 solar panel. Wide-view and lighting cameras cover the S350 4K indoor dual pan and tilt, the E340 floodlight dual lens 360 degree pan and tilt, the E30 floodlight pan and tilt and the S120 solar wall light cam. Wired and networked systems cover PoE Cam E40 bullet, PoE Cam S4 bullet-PTZ, a PoE NVR system with E40 bullet cams, the S4 Max NVR with four cameras and a PoE NVR S4. Also stocked are the 4G LTE Cam S330 with solar panel for locations without broadband, the E340 2K dual camera video doorbell with chime, and the wireless S3 Pro 2-cam kit.
