Setup and Care

Getting Started:

Charge the included DCB184 battery using the DCB1104 charger before first use - charge time is approximately 75 minutes. Fit the bar and chain following the steps in the supplied manual, and check that chain tension and oiling are set correctly before cutting. Fill the oil reservoir with the appropriate chainsaw bar oil before each session.

Chain Tensioning:

Use the supplied wrench to adjust chain tension via the tooled tensioning system. A correctly tensioned chain should have a small amount of sag on the underside of the bar but should not be loose enough to pull away from the bar groove. Check tension regularly during use, particularly on a new chain that may stretch in the first few sessions.

Routine Maintenance:

Keep the bar oil reservoir topped up during use - the automatic oiling system relies on adequate oil levels to lubricate the chain properly. Clean sawdust and debris from the bar groove and sprocket area after each use. Use the on-board 4.0mm file to touch up chain sharpness as needed, following the chain manufacturer's guidance for filing angle.

Battery and Storage:

Remove the battery before carrying out any maintenance or chain adjustments. Store the chainsaw with the bar guard fitted in a dry location away from direct sunlight. For long-term storage, remove the battery and store it separately in a cool, dry place with a partial charge to maintain battery health.
