Frequently Asked Questions

Does this spray paint contain lead or other harmful solvents?

The Douglas Multi Surface Spray Paint uses a lead- and toluene-free formula, making it a more responsible choice for home, farm, and workshop projects. This matters both for personal safety during application and for use around households where minimising exposure to harsh chemicals is a priority. For full handling guidance, refer to the safety data sheet before use.

Does this spray paint protect against rust?

Yes on both counts. The formula actively inhibits rust and corrosion, making it a practical choice for metal surfaces exposed to moisture or outdoor conditions. It is rated for interior and exterior use, so it handles garden furniture, gates, farm equipment, and workshop projects equally well. The DS0400G Satin White is ready to use straight from the 400ml aerosol, with no additional equipment needed.

What surfaces can this multi surface spray paint be used on?

This aerosol spray paint works on metal, wood, and plastic, covering the majority of surfaces found in home, garden, and workshop settings. The satin finish gives a smooth, low-sheen result across all of these materials. Because it is formulated for multi-surface use, one 400ml can handles a broad mix of materials in a single project without needing a different product for each surface type.

Is this an Irish-made spray paint?

Douglas is an Irish-owned brand manufactured by Curust Industries, one of Ireland's longest-established producers of specialist paints and solvents, based in Co. Wicklow. The Multi Surface range was developed to deliver consistent results for householders, farmers, and tradespeople, and the brand is well recognised across the Irish market. Buying Douglas supports domestic manufacturing.
