Frequently Asked Questions

Does this primer spray paint contain lead or other harmful chemicals?

This acrylic primer is free from both lead and toluene, making it a safer choice for everyday use around the home, farmyard, or workshop. The aerosol format still requires sensible ventilation during use, as with any spray paint. Refer to the safety data sheet before use. The model code is DS0400D1 if you need to request that document.

Does this primer spray paint work on metal and wood?

This 400ml aerosol primer is suitable for metal, wood, and other compatible surfaces, and it is formulated for both interior and exterior use. It inhibits rust and corrosion, which makes it a practical first step on outdoor metalwork before applying a compatible finishing coat. It is well suited to everyday jobs around the home, farmyard, or workshop.

What finish does this primer spray leave?

Once dry, this black acrylic primer delivers a high gloss finish. It is designed as a preparation coat rather than a standalone finish, so applying a compatible finishing spray over it gives the best result.
