The Haier X Series 5 uses its Smart AI cycle to analyse each wash automatically, drawing on over 2,500 fabric and load combinations to adjust temperature, spin speed, and duration without any manual input. This means a full 10 kg cotton load and a smaller mixed bag are each handled appropriately, with no guesswork on your part. Energy consumption per cycle is 0.41 kWh, and the machine carries an A energy rating with a weighted figure of 41 kWh per 100 Eco 40-60 cycles.

Control and Monitoring via the hOn App:

Connect the machine to your home Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® and manage everything through the hOn app on iOS or Android. You can start, pause, or schedule a wash remotely, download over 60 additional cycles, track your energy and water use, and receive maintenance alerts from wherever you are. The 24-hour delay timer is also adjustable directly from the app, giving you full flexibility around your schedule.

Fabric Care Built Into the Drum:

The Pillow Drum uses laser-welded cushion-shaped pads on the drum interior so clothes glide through the wash without snagging or excessive friction. The Smart Dual Spray system rinses the drum and door gasket automatically at the end of each cycle, keeping the interior fresh between washes. For lightly worn items that do not need a full wash, the Refresh programme uses a fine steam mist to revitalise fabrics without water or detergent.

Setup and Care

Installation:

The machine requires a standard 220–240 V mains connection and both a cold water inlet and a drain outlet. Allow a recess of at least 850 mm high, 600 mm wide, and 600 mm deep. The stacking kit (sold separately) allows a compatible Haier tumble dryer to be mounted on top, which is useful where floor space is limited.

First Use:

Before loading any laundry, remove all transit bolts from the rear of the machine — these are provided for protection during delivery and must be taken out before the drum can rotate freely. Run an empty drum-clean cycle first to rinse the interior, then download the hOn app, create an account, and connect the machine to your home Wi-Fi to activate the full Smart AI and remote control features.

Keeping It Clean:

The Smart Dual Spray system rinses the drum and door gasket at the end of every cycle, reducing residue build-up between cleans. Wipe the door seal with a dry cloth after each wash and leave the door ajar when the machine is not in use to allow air circulation inside the drum. Run the dedicated drum-cleaning programme periodically to maintain hygiene.

Detergent and Maintenance:

Use a high-efficiency (HE) low-foam detergent suitable for front-loading machines, following the dosage guidelines on the packaging. Clean the pump filter every three to four weeks by unscrewing the access cover at the base of the machine and rinsing it under running water. The hOn app will send maintenance reminders and alerts if any action is needed, so you always know when a service task is due.
