TP-Link Tapo TC93D KIT Solar Security Camera with Dual 2K Lenses

Two Independent 2K Lenses, One Camera:

The TC93D KIT combines a fixed ultra-wide 2K lens with a 165.1° diagonal field of view and a separate 2K pan/tilt telephoto lens that covers 334° of horizontal rotation and 90° of tilt. Both lenses operate independently at 2304 × 1296 px resolution, so you can monitor two separate areas of your property simultaneously without installing a second camera. One-Tap Smart Focus lets you tap any point on the wide-angle live view and the pan/tilt lens instantly centres and zooms in on that spot.

Solar Powered with a 10,000 mAh Backup Battery:

The included Tapo A201 Solar Panel connects directly to the camera via the supplied USB adapter cable. Just 1 hour of sunlight is enough to power the camera for a full day, and the 10,000 mAh built-in lithium-ion battery stores enough charge to keep the camera running for up to 4 months if sunlight is not available. Installation is fully wire-free - there is no need to run mains cable or position the camera near a power socket.

AI Detection Without a Subscription:

The TC93D KIT uses three motion sensors and an ambient light sensor to detect activity, and its AI detection layer classifies alerts by subject type - person, pet, or vehicle - without requiring a Tapo Care cloud subscription. Activity zones let you define exactly which areas of the camera's view should trigger notifications, reducing false alerts from passing traffic or moving trees. Cloud storage is available optionally through Tapo Care, and local storage via a microSD card of up to 512 GB is supported as a no-subscription alternative.

Synchronized Smart Tracking and Night Vision:

When Synchronized Smart Tracking is enabled in the Tapo App, the pan/tilt lens automatically follows movement first detected by the wide-angle lens, keeping subjects in frame without any manual input. For low-light and night-time monitoring, the camera offers both full-colour spotlight mode using six built-in spotlights and an infrared mode with 10 m night vision range for discreet, power-efficient monitoring in complete darkness.

Setup and Care

Positioning for Best Solar Charging:

Mount the camera in a location where the solar panel receives direct sunlight for at least 1 hour per day. South-facing walls and eaves are typically the most productive positions in Ireland. The solar panel bracket allows you to angle the panel independently of the camera body for the best exposure.

Connecting to Your Wi-Fi Network:

Download the Tapo App (iOS 12.0+ or Android 7.0+) and follow the in-app setup guide to connect the camera to your 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz home Wi-Fi network. Keep the camera within a reasonable range of your router during initial setup to ensure a stable connection, then relocate it to its final mounting position once pairing is complete.

Installing a MicroSD Card:

Insert a microSD card (up to 512 GB, sold separately) into the card slot on the camera body before mounting to enable continuous local recording without a cloud subscription. The Tapo App allows you to format the card and configure recording schedules directly from your phone.

Keeping the Camera in Good Condition:

Wipe the camera lens and solar panel surface periodically with a clean, dry cloth to remove dust, bird droppings, or other debris that could reduce image clarity or charging efficiency. The IP65 rating means the unit is protected against water jets and dust ingress, so no additional weatherproofing is needed for standard outdoor use.
