The 2177 3 lever mortice deadlock is one of the brand's most established internal door locks, used across residential and light commercial timber door installations for decades. The polished brass finish gives a classic look, with the strike plate finished to match the forend for a consistent appearance.

A compact case with a proven deadbolt mechanism:

The 2177 features a 12.5mm anti-saw deadbolt constructed from brass with hardened steel rollers, making it resistant to sawing attacks through the door stile. The case measures just 65mm wide by 70mm high, making it practical for retrofitting into tighter door stiles where larger cases would not fit. The 44.5mm backset suits standard internal timber door preparations.

Non-handed and compatible across the Union 3 lever range:

The lock is non-handed, meaning it works on both left-hung and right-hung doors without modification, and is suitable for doors up to 54mm thick. It can be ordered keyed alike with Union models 2077, 2157, 2277, and 2477, with 100 standard key differs available in the MM Series (numbered M101M to M200M). A rebate kit (Union 2969, in 13mm, 19mm, or 25mm) is available separately for rebated door frames.
