Belling BL86WH 48cm Undercounter Larder Fridge - Compact Chilled Storage

Space-saving design for smaller kitchens:

At just 48 cm wide and 85 cm tall, the Belling BL86WH fits neatly under a standard kitchen worktop in spaces where a wider 55 cm or 60 cm appliance simply would not work. The 88-litre net capacity provides everyday chilled storage for singles, couples, or anyone looking for a second fridge without taking up significant floor space.

Inverter compressor for quieter, more efficient running:

The BL86WH is fitted with an inverter compressor, which adjusts its output to match cooling demand rather than switching on and off repeatedly at full power. This contributes to a measured noise level of just 37 dB (noise class C) and an annual energy consumption of 68 kWh, giving this fridge a D energy rating on the EU A-G scale.

Practical interior organisation:

Inside, three glass shelves allow you to separate food types across multiple levels, while a dedicated salad drawer at the base keeps fruit and vegetables at an appropriate humidity. An adjustable thermostat lets you dial in the correct storage temperature for your household's needs.

Setup and Care

Positioning:

Allow at least a few centimetres of clearance around the sides and rear of the unit to ensure adequate ventilation. The BL86WH is designed for indoor domestic use in a standard kitchen environment.

Initial setup:

Leave the fridge standing upright for at least two hours before switching it on, particularly if it was transported on its side. Allow the temperature to stabilise for several hours before loading with food.

Temperature settings:

Use the adjustable thermostat to set your preferred temperature. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland recommends keeping fridges at or below 5°C for safe food storage.

Cleaning and maintenance:

Wipe the interior regularly with a mild solution of bicarbonate of soda and warm water to keep it fresh. The glass shelves can be removed for easier cleaning. Defrost the unit manually as required when ice build-up becomes noticeable.
