Bosch Series 2 BGS05BU2GB Bagless Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner with AirCycle Technology

Consistent suction from room to room:

The Bosch Series 2 BGS05BU2GB is a 700W bagless cylinder vacuum cleaner built around Bosch's AirCycle technology, which spins and separates dust centrifugally to keep suction consistent whether you're working on carpets or hard floors. The HiSpin motor uses aerodynamic blades and calibrated airflow to maintain strong dust pick-up throughout the clean. With a 9-metre operating radius, you can cover a full room without repositioning the unit.

Washable filtration that captures 99.9% of dust:

The PureAir hygienic filter system is rated EPA H12, capturing 99.9% of dust particles. The filter is fully washable, so there are no ongoing replacement costs. The 1.5-litre bagless dust container is straightforward to empty and gives you plenty of capacity between empties for a thorough session around the house.

Tackles upholstery and awkward corners with ease:

The combination crevice and brush nozzle handles skirting boards, corners and narrow gaps, while the multi-surface floor nozzle adjusts between carpet and hard floor use. The telescopic stainless steel tube and 1.8-metre hose give you good reach for stairs and ceiling edges.

Compact design with tidy storage:

The BGS05BU2GB features compact integrated hose storage that clips the hose neatly to the body of the unit when not in use - practical if storage space is tight, such as in a cupboard under the stairs or a small utility area. The 6-metre cord rewinds automatically, and at 4.44 kg the machine is light enough to carry between floors without effort.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Attach the telescopic tube to the hose and connect your chosen nozzle before plugging in. The variable power control lets you adjust airflow to suit the surface you're cleaning - lower settings work well on lightweight rugs and curtains, while the higher setting handles deep-pile carpets and hard floors.

Emptying the dust container:

Press the release button to detach the dust container and carry it directly to the bin before emptying - holding it low over the bin reduces dust dispersal. The container is designed to open cleanly, releasing the collected dust in one movement rather than requiring you to shake it out.

Cleaning the filter:

Remove the PureAir filter and tap off loose dust before rinsing under cold running water. Allow the filter to air-dry completely - typically 24 hours - before refitting. A clean filter maintains airflow and keeps the motor working at its best.

Storing the machine:

Use the integrated hose storage clip to secure the hose to the body of the unit, then press the cord rewind button to retract the full 6-metre cord. Stored this way, the BGS05BU2GB sits neatly in a cupboard or utility space without trailing cables or loose accessories.
