Douglas Mineralised Methylated Spirits is a denatured alcohol manufactured from virgin materials, producing a cleaner burning flame than lower-grade alternatives. It is dyed purple and contains a small quantity of methanol to render it unfit for human consumption, in line with standard regulations for methylated spirits.
Wide range of decorating and cleaning applications:
This 500ml bottle is commonly used to thin French polish, spirit-based varnishes, spirit-based paints, and knotting solutions. It is also well suited to cleaning paintwork, glassware, ceramics, and mirrors, and to wiping resinous matter from timber knots before applying Douglas Patent Knotting.
