The Portwest S441 Classic Rain Trousers are constructed from 100% polyester with a REACH-compliant PVC coating and treated with Portwest's Texpel™ Splash Eco finish - a PFAS-free water repellent treatment that causes water to bead and roll off the fabric surface. The trousers meet EN 343 Class 3:1 X with a 5,000mm hydrostatic head rating, which reflects a high level of waterproof performance in line with occupational rain protection standards.
Taped seams and a practical fit for layering:
Taped seams throughout the construction prevent water from penetrating at the stitch lines, adding an extra layer of protection during sustained rainfall. The roomy cut is designed to fit over existing work trousers, and the fully elasticated waistband makes it straightforward to pull on and off quickly on site. Stud-adjustable hems allow the leg opening to be secured around work boots so water cannot run down inside.
Lightweight, packable, and UV rated:
At 210 gsm, the fabric is lightweight enough to fold away when not needed, making these trousers a practical addition to a kit bag or van. The fabric also carries a 40+ UPF rating, blocking 98% of UV rays - useful when working outdoors in brighter conditions. Side access openings provide pass-through access to trouser pockets worn underneath.
