Microporous protection that moves with the wood:

Sadolin Extra Durable Woodstain is a solvent-based translucent microporous woodstain formulated for exterior joinery such as doors, windows, and conservatories. Its microporous structure allows the timber to breathe, expanding and contracting with natural wood movement, which helps prevent peeling, blistering, and flaking over time. Coverage reaches up to 15 m² per litre on planed softwood or hardwood.

UV filters and weather resistance built in:

The formula incorporates UV filters and water-repellent technology to guard against sun damage, moisture ingress, and general weathering. The result is a semi-gloss, translucent finish that keeps the natural grain visible while maintaining colour integrity through changing seasons. Apply when air and substrate temperatures are between 8°C and 25°C for best results.

Recommended coating system for new timber:

For optimum durability on new or bare wood, Sadolin recommends applying one coat of Sadolin Classic Wood Protection as a base coat, followed by two coats of Sadolin Extra. Touch dry at 20°C in 4-6 hours; recoat after 16-24 hours. The product should not be thinned and is applied by brush only - spraying is not recommended by Sadolin.
