TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter Kit with Wi-Fi for Home Networks

Extend your network through your mains wiring:

The TP-Link TL-WPA4220 KIT uses your home's existing electrical wiring to carry a network connection from your router to any room in the house - no new cables, no drilling. The HomePlug AV2 standard supports powerline speeds of up to 600 Mbps across a range of up to 300 metres, making it well suited to multi-storey homes and properties where Wi-Fi signal drops off in certain rooms.

Wi-Fi and wired connections at the far end:

The TL-WPA4220 extender unit adds 300 Mbps wireless coverage and two 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports at its location. This means you can connect a smart TV, games console, or PC by cable while also providing wireless access for phones and tablets in the same area. 128-bit AES encryption secures all data travelling across the powerline, and WPA2-PSK protects the wireless connection.

Wi-Fi Clone and Wi-Fi Auto-Sync:

Pressing the Wi-Fi Clone button on the TL-WPA4220 copies the SSID and password directly from your router, so devices already on your home network connect to the extended signal without any reconfiguration. Wi-Fi Auto-Sync then propagates any future router Wi-Fi settings changes automatically to all extenders on the network. The tpPLC App for iOS and Android, and the tpPLC Utility for Windows and Mac, allow further management if required.

Setup and Care

Getting started:

Plug the TL-PA4010 into a wall socket near your router and connect it to the router using one of the supplied Ethernet cables. Plug the TL-WPA4220 into any wall socket in the room where you need connectivity. The two units pair automatically - no software is needed to begin using the kit.

Adding Wi-Fi Clone:

To match the extender's wireless network to your existing router name and password, press the Wi-Fi Clone button on the TL-WPA4220 within two minutes of pressing the WPS button on your router. Devices already connected to your home Wi-Fi will then connect to the extended signal automatically.

Managing your network:

Download the tpPLC App on iOS or Android for straightforward monitoring and management from a smartphone. Windows and Mac users can use the tpPLC Utility for the same functions on a desktop or laptop.

Keeping the units in good condition:

Plug both units directly into a wall socket rather than a multi-socket extension lead, as surge-protected strips can reduce powerline performance. Keep the ventilation slots on each unit clear and avoid placing them in enclosed spaces or areas with high humidity.
