Two numbers decide a cordless mower: cutting width and lawn size. Widths here run 30cm, 33cm, 34cm, 37cm, 40cm, 41cm, 46cm and 51cm, and a narrower deck is easier round beds and paths while a wider one takes fewer passes on open lawn. Voltage sets the power available, from 18V and 20V for a small garden through 40V for a typical family lawn to 80V for the largest, and a brushless motor runs cooler, longer per charge and lasts better than a brushed one. Self propelled models drive themselves forward, which is what makes a 46cm or 51cm mower manageable on a slope or for anyone who does not want to push. Check whether batteries and a charger are included, since some models are sold as bare units, and check whether the battery matches a platform you already own, because that is where the real saving is.
