Electric Hedge Trimmer

Electric Hedge Trimmers

Corded electric trimmers give steady, uninterrupted power for as long as they're plugged in, which suits a longer session on a medium-sized hedge better than a battery that has to be watched for charge. They're also lighter than most petrol equivalents, which matters most on a tall hedge where the trimmer is held above shoulder height for long stretches. Blade length is the main spec to match to the job: shorter blades around 45cm suit borders and smaller hedges where manoeuvrability matters more, while longer 55-60cm blades cover a bigger hedge face faster. A pole trimmer extends reach for the top of a tall hedge without a ladder, and shrub and grass shear attachments cover finer trimming the main blade is too coarse for.

Bosch covers the Universal Hedgecut 60, Easy Hedge 45-16, EasyHedgeCut 55-16 and the cordless Isio shrub and grass shear. Black & Decker supplies the 45cm and 60cm hedge cutters, the pole hedge trimmer and a model with an integrated saw blade. For cordless and petrol options see Hedge Trimmers.
