Bosch's FlameSelect rotary knobs divide each burner into 9 defined power levels, giving you the kind of repeatable, step-by-step control more commonly associated with induction cooking. Once you find the right setting for a dish, you can return to it exactly every time. The metallic front-mounted knobs are removable for easy cleaning.

Gas on glass with an easy-clean finish:

Setup and Care

Installation:

The PPM9A6I40 requires hardwired connection to a 13 A fused spur using a 3 A fuse - a qualified electrician and Gas Safe registered engineer should carry out both the electrical and gas connections. The cutout dimensions are 45 x 850-852 x 490-502 mm (HxWxD), and the minimum worktop thickness is 20 mm for standard installation or 30 mm for a flush finish. Maintain at least 500 mm clearance above the hob surface.

Converting to LPG:

The hob arrives configured for natural gas; the included nozzle set allows conversion to LPG. This conversion must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. No tools beyond those in the kit are needed for the burner nozzle swap.

Everyday cleaning:

The tempered glass surface wipes clean with a damp cloth once cool. The cast iron pan supports lift off and are suitable for the dishwasher, making a full clean after a busy session straightforward. The metallic control knobs pull free from their spindles for cleaning separately.

Long-term care:

Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the glass surface. Check the burner caps periodically and ensure they are seated correctly after cleaning, as misaligned caps can affect ignition. Refer to the Bosch installation manual for annual servicing recommendations from a Gas Safe engineer.
