One battery, two voltage platforms:

The DCB546 automatically detects the voltage of the tool it is connected to and switches its output accordingly - delivering 54V 2.0Ah to FLEXVOLT tools and 18V 6.0Ah to standard XR tools. This means one battery covers both platforms without any manual adjustment or adaptor required.

Runtime and power for demanding work:

With up to 6 times the runtime compared to standard 18V XR batteries, the DCB546 is built for long days on site where frequent battery swaps slow productivity. Two DCB546 packs can also be run simultaneously in compatible FLEXVOLT kits to deliver 108V combined output for the most demanding cordless applications.

Built-in protection and charge monitoring:

The battery includes inbuilt protection against overheat, overload, and deep discharge to extend battery service life. A built-in LED Fuel Gauge gives an instant three-LED readout of remaining charge before you start a task. There is no memory effect and virtually no self-discharge during storage.

Compatibility across the XR range:

The DCB546 is compatible with all DeWalt XR 18V products (excluding the DCR017 radio and DWST1-75663 TOUGHSYSTEM radio) and can be recharged using any DeWalt 18V XR charger. The DCB116 fast charger charges the 6.0Ah pack in approximately 80 minutes. The battery shares the same width and length as a standard 18V XR pack, with only a small increase in height.

Transport compliant for air and site:

The included transport cap splits the DCB546 into three 36Wh sections for air travel compliance under UN3480 regulations, keeping the battery below the 100Wh per section threshold that triggers dangerous goods classification. The cap is included in the box and is straightforward to fit before travel.
